Configuring a Revolabs Xtag Microphone

After plugging in your Revolabs Xtag microphone in the classroom for Kaltura recordings there are some settings that need to be changed in order for the sound to work correctly.

  1. Click on the Start Menu on the Windows 7 desktop and select 'Control Panel'

  2. From the Control Panel window select the 'Hardware and Sound' category

  3. Click on the 'Sound' menu

  4. From the 'Sound' Window select the speaker described as 'USB Audio Device'. If the green checkmark is on this speaker, like the image below, please continue. If the green checkmark is on the 'Realtek High Definition Audio' speakers you do not need to make any changes

  5. Right click on the USB Audio device and click 'Disable'

  6. The result should look like this. You should now be able to continue with your Kaltura recording session.

  7. After you are done with your lecture you may disconnect the Revolabs Xtag Microphone and you will not need to make any other configurations for the next instructor. This process will have to be repeated each time you wish to use the Revolabs Xtag Microphone
