Using the Fisher Lecture Hall Touch Panel Interface

The following information is a very detailed explanation of how to use the touch panel interface that is in Fisher Lecture Hall. It is quite lengthy and may be printed for your convenience.

Welcome Screen
  • You may see this screen when you enter the classroom. Simply touch the screen to begin using the equipment.

    Main Control Page
  • From here you can control the majority of the system.
  • Projector Power
  • To turn the projector on or off, push the projector ON or OFF button. The system will be disabled during the power-up and power-down phases. Note: The screens in this room are permanantly mounted to the wall.
  • Please Wait Pop-up Window
  • This window will pop-up when the projector power on button is pressed.
  • This window will prevent any other buttons from being pressed for 35 seconds while the projectors are powering up.
  • Preview and Project Controls
  • To preview computer or document camera sources press one of the preview buttons and the image from that source will be displayed in that preview window. The active preview button will turn green. Video previews will pop-up in the lower middle of the main control page with controls.
  • To display a selected source press the project button. The project button will turn yellow.
  • The picture mute button toggles the black screen function of the projectors. This button flashes red when the picture is muted.
  • Please note: these instructions are common to both the left and the right preview panes.
  • Center Screen Control
  • The up and down motorized center screen buttons will raise and lower the center screen.
  • Lighting and Sound Controls
  • The five lighting buttons between the preview windows will recall the lighting system presets. The active lighting button will turn green. Note: The green button may not match the selection on the wall switch.
  • To listen to a source, touch the source button and then touch the Listen To button.
  • Volume Controls
  • The two microphone volume sliders adjust the volume of the wireless and table microphones. When one is turned on, the other is muted.
  • The program volume bar controls the volume from any source, except for the microphones.
  • The main mute button is a volume mute toggle button that will toggle all sound on and off.
  • Slide the bar up or down to change the volume level. Do this by touching the bar at the level you wish to set the volume at. The red bar will move to where your finger is at.
  • Source Selection
  • To select a source, touch one of the source buttons located in the lower left hand corner of the main control page. Some of the source buttons have a pop-up page associated with them. When pushed the pop-up page will automatically turn on control of that source. The active source button will turn green.
  • To view a preview source full screen touch the image once to expand to full size. Touch the image again to return to the main control page.
  • PC Control Pop-up Window
  • This window will pop-up when the PC button is selected.
  • The forward and reverse buttons will control a PowerPoint slide show on the PC only.
  • VCR Control Pop-up Window
  • This window will pop-up when the VCR button is pressed.
  • The play, stop, pause, fast-forward, and rewind buttons control the VCR or the VCR can be controlled by the buttons on its front panel.
  • A preview of the VCR will be displayed in the video window.
  • This window will also display any auxiliary device plugged into the auxiliary audio/video connections next to the laptop connections on the podium.
  • DVD Control Pop-up Window
  • This window will pop-up when the DVD button is pressed.
  • The DVD player is controlled by the play, stop, pause, fast-forward, rewind, skip forward, skip rewind, cursor up, cursor down, cursor right, cursor left, and enter buttons.
  • The DVD player will also play audio CD's.
  • Experiment Camera Pop-up Window
  • This window will pop-up when the EXP TABLE button is pressed.
  • From here you can select either the experiment table camera or the auxiliary inputs.
  • Cable TV Tuner Pop-up Window
  • This window will pop-up when the CATV button is pressed.
  • The channel up and down buttons increase or decrease the channel by one for each button push.
  • Note: This feature does not currently function in this room.
  • 35mm Slides Selection Pop-up Window
  • This window will pop-up when the 35mm Slides button is pressed.
  • From here you can select the desired 35mm projector to control, left, right, both of these, or center.
  • Left Slide Pop-up Window
  • This window will pop-up when the Left Slide button is pressed.
  • When the Left Slide projector power is turned on the left video projector will automatically mute (�black screen�) itself.
  • The on and off buttons control the power state of the 35mm projector.
  • The forward and reverse buttons will control the 35mm projector carousel direction.
  • Center Slide Pop-up Window
  • This window will pop-up when the Center Slide button is pressed.
  • When the Center Slide projector power is turned on both video projectors will automatically mute (�black screen�) themselves and the center-motorized screen will come down.
  • The on and off buttons control the power state of the 35mm projector.
  • The forward and reverse buttons will control the 35mm projector.
  • Center Slide Warning Pop-up Window
  • This window will pop-up when the power on for the center 35mm slide projector is selected to verify that you really want to turn it on.
  • Yes will turn on the projector and lower the center motorized screen and mute both video projectors.
  • No will let you exit with out turning on the 35mm projector.
  • Right Slide Pop-up Window
  • This window will pop-up when the Right Slide button is pressed.
  • When the Right Slide projector power is turned on the right video projector will automatically mute (�black screen�) itself.
  • The on and off buttons control the power state of the 35mm projector.
  • The forward and reverse buttons will control the 35mm projector carousel direction.
  • Left and Right 35mm Slide Pop-up Window
  • This window will pop up when the Both Left and Right slide button is pressed.
  • When the power for the left or right 35mm slide projectors is turned on the respective video projectors will mute (�black screen�) them selves.
  • The on and off buttons control the power state of the 35mm projectors.
  • The forward and reverse buttons will control the 35mm projectors carousel direction.
  • LCD Projector Power-Down Warning Pop-up Window
  • This window will pop-up when the projector power off button is pressed.
  • "Yes" will turn off the projectors and disable the system for two minutes while the LCD bulb cools down.
  • "No" will exit you back to the main control page.
